We can now officially say that this is the most complete 3D design solution for Mac (and Windows) users.

The three applications work together to allow any designer to capture real objects in 3D, animate and render them, and then deliver them in almost every conceivable way a 3D designer might be asked to (and many ways so new you'll have to introduce them to your clients).

If you only have Strata 3D CX, then you're missing so many possibilities. If you haven't purchased a Strata app in a while, you don't know what you're missing.

Foto 3D for the Mac is here. Turn your digital camera into you own personal 3D capture device. Then pull your fully realized and textured 3D object into Strata 3D CX or Live 3D. Populate your scenes with ease. Check out this week's podcast and the previous one to see just how easy Foto 3D is to use.

Although we announced it briefly, Live 3D PDF will be a surprise to most. Its power is only outgunned by its simplicity. Take any PDF and easily add a real-time 3D object to any page you'd like. Position your menus and navigation, resize your 3D area and recolor your script buttons to match your PDF design. All the power of a layout app to incorporate 3D files into PDFs directly from XMM files rendered from Strata 3D CX, Live 3D, or even other PDFs!

Live 3D has been updated to version 1.2. This update contains several stability fixes, and changes to accommodate Acrobat Reader 8.

With perhaps the largest Prize pool of any free Photoshop Design Contest on the web, over $12,000, this is worth entering!

The Challenge is... PAST or FUTURE: Design a billboard! Create a billboard ad for Photoshop, in the past or future, could be caveman days, colonial, yesterday, tomorrow, 60s or future, you decide. You may use any tools or platform you choose, but you must use Photoshop for at least 50% of the Image editing/design. Good luck, it's free to enter and open to everyone around the world.

In the second part of the Foto 3D series, Lex de Azevedo runs through the process of importing photos and creating masks using the auto-mask tools and other manual tools.

Rob Figee is an architectural Illustrator based in the Netherlands with a focus on urban and industrial building. During his 21 years experience in this field he worked for numerous clients such as Building Companies, Architectural Offices and Estate Agencies.

Although we mention models here consistently, it's worth noting that the Cafe is a great resource for textures and backgrounds as well, including HDRI backgrounds for photorealistic reflections and lighting.
